• The Trail of Tears crosses the White River below where Bull Shoals Dam stands today.

• The Wolf House at Norfork is the oldest structure of its kind west of the Mississippi. It was also the first courthouse in the Arkansas Territory.

• Many battles of the Civil War were fought up and down the White River as both the Union and the Confederate States tried to gain control of the river from Missouri to Mississippi.

You may experience many historical and interesting treasures of the Ozarks as you drive the back roads and the driving tours throughout the Bull Shoals Lake and White River area of the Arkansas Ozarks.
